While it might be the Singapura’s unique looks that first interest you in the breed, it will be her personality that makes this breed a favorite family pet.
The breed is medium-sized but nicely muscled.
“It’s a powerful, assertive cat with a lot of personalities,” Iris Tanner, a Cat Fanciers’ Association cat judge told Animal Planet. “Don’t just think of it as the little cat.”
The Singapura is the smallest domestic cat breed, with adult females weighing as little as four pounds. Males weigh more but top out at just eight pounds. The Singapura cat‘s diminutive size isn’t the only notable physical characteristic of the breed. She is also known for her saucer-sized eyes outlined in black, her oversized ears, and her unique coloring.
The breed comes in only one color—a singular, sepia-toned coat created by hair that has at least two bands of dark ticking separated by light bands, ending with a dark tip. Meanwhile, the cat’s muzzle, chin, chest, and stomach should be the color of unbleached muslin, according to a description from The Cat Fanciers’ Association.
